Slapping in Sorority Life

The Slap button has turned into an evil evil thing according to some people who play SL. The majority of players on Sorority Life do not like the slap button, and take it pretty offensively if you choose to use it in your game.

What this little button does is knock down your opponents confidence by just a few points, basically it does nothing, so why people get so worked up over it is beyond me. I use the slap button, and I enjoy using this feature. To me it was put there to be used, and if I didn't use it I wouldn't be using all the features of the game.

The slap button, to me, is a choice, you can choose to hate it, or choose to love it. For a long time I didn't use the slap button, but I never cared if other people used it. But once I hit the higher levels I have started to use it, and I have noticed that I am getting attacked more often (and more often than not I win these attacks), so its pretty good for my stats.

In addition to this I like to use the attack button to use up my stamina, at the high levels (above lvl 100) you aren't using your stamina as much as you did when you were on the lower levels. But after level 100 or so, the attack list starts to thin out and you are left with very few people to attack, and even fewer people to go after that are not hiding in the spa. This means very few influence points are being awarded and this makes it a lot harder to level up. You can use this unused stamina to slap people (and you don't even have to pay to get out of the spa to slap someone). Every now and again you get BL'ed for it and I usually end up winning quite a bit of influence points in the process. Of course you lose some too, but this can be balanced out if you power up your glam good enough (buy glam with high Popularity Points).

Another reason why people use the slap button is to "get back" at players that have attacked them, or Burn listed them, who are on too low of a level for you to attack or burn back. See you are only allowed to attack someone lower than you if they are on your rivals list, or if they are only 10 or so levels below you. If they are more than 10 levels below you and haven't attacked you, you can not attack them. This becomes a big bummer when you get to the higher levels, since most of the people in SL are on lower levels.

Now most people will say that slapping is rude, and come up with all the excuses in the world for why you SHOULD NOT slap, but I just don't agree. This is a game option, and doing something in a game should not be considered RUDE in real life. I don't think its rude to send someone back to home in the game Sorry, and I don't think its rude to collect rent when you land on someone property in Monopoly, so I don't think its rude to slap someone in Sorority Life.

With that being said you will have to choose how you want to play the game. Some will try to bully you into not slapping, and even worse some will try to make you delete people from your house that slap, but most I find don't give two craps if you slap or not. Unless you are active on the chat feed, most won't care too much what you do with your game.

Remember this is a game, don't get carried away, and don't take things personal. Games are meant to be enjoyed, and this one can be great fun if you don't get sucked into all kinds of drama within the game. Just play the game how you want, and don't worry about what others are doing (unless you are nosy, like me! hehe)
